Gardening writer with over 20 years' experience of editing and writing gardening books, lecturing and speaking
I have a busy career as a gardening author, lecturer and speaker. For details of my books and articles, please go to Writing. I was a horticultural adviser on the new edition of the RHS A–Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants and more recently on a revision of the RHS Encylopedia of Plants and Flowers.
Previously, I have taught garden design and RHS certificate at Warwickshire College, and garden history at the English Gardening School. I am currently planning a series of workshops and courses for the Masterclasses series at Lamport Hall - watch this space for updates!
I can arrange one-off events at Lamport Hall for interested groups – depending on the size of the group, this can be a half-day or summer evening visit to include talk, garden tour, question and answer session with light refreshments. Alternatively, book a full day to include lunch (afternoon tour of the house or nearby Kelmarsh Hall garden).
We welcome visitors from overseas.
“One of the best day visits organised for Clifton Garden Club – all thanks to Andrew” – Daphne Allan,

I lecture and give demos to gardening clubs and other groups, speak at RHS shows and am on the RHS and Cottage Garden Society lists of speakers. For further details of talks, go to Speaking.
